BTL understands that Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is expected to make an announcement on COVID-19 restrictions today.

In a conversation with the Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete yesterday, Mr Bainimarama told the Minister that he was preparing for today’s announcement.

When Dr Waqainabete was asked about this conversation, he said: “We have always provided the necessary advice and recommendations to the Prime Minister’s office and the timing of the announcements that the Prime Minister will make on the COVID-19 restrictions in place will come directly from his office.”
