$10K pledge for solar energy

Arya Prathinidhi Sabha of Fiji, founder and owner of University of Fiji, has pledged $10,000 towards solar energy investment for the university. This follows the university’s council meeting last week to determine the way forward for the university since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pro Chancellor and Chair Kamlesh Arya said the pledge was to explore alternative sources of energy for the Saweni Campus. The council also accepted reports that the alternative learning and teaching modes had been successfully carried out over the remaining weeks of Semester One. He added that the university’s solar energy project was in line with its “greening the campus strategic objective”.
