Hopkins pays final courtesy call to PM
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday received a courtesy call from outgoing British High Commissioner to Fiji, Melanie Hopkins, at his office. Mr Bainimarama expressed his sincere appreciation towards the British Government’s contribution in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. Ms Hopkins departs Fiji tomorrow. Ms Hopkins said her successor, Deputy High Commissioner to Fiji, Paul Welsh arrives tomorrow, but she would remain in her role until July 31. Ms Hopkins served as the British High Commissioner to Fiji, non-resident High Commissioner to the Kingdom of Tonga, the Republic of Kiribati, Tuvalu and nonresident Ambassador to the Federated States of Micronesia.
