Mosque Sets COVID-Safe Rules for All

The Fiji Muslim League has declared its gratitude that social gathering restrictio­ns allow for 100 worshipers to worship inside a mosque at a time. At the Nausori Jame Mosque yesterday, prayer times were allocated into four sessions.

This is to comply with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services requiremen­ts.

National President Hafizud Dean Khan said it was vital for mosques to comply with all of the Ministry of Health requiremen­ts.

Guidelines to observing restrictio­ns inside mosques

Social distancing of 1.5m will be maintained in all Masajid/Marakiz during regular and JUMA prayers.

A maximum of 100 people will be allowed at any one time and members are requested to offer their prayers in the nearest Masjid/Markaz.

All those coming to a Masjid/Markaz are advised to come early for registrati­on (compulsory-Name, Phone and Address). No one would be allowed inside the Masjid/Markaz without registrati­on. Members are requested/encouraged to perform Wudu (Ablution) before coming to the Masjid/ Markaz.

There will be multiple sessions for Juma prayer to cater for all the members.

Members are requested to leave the Masjid/Markaz immediatel­y after Juma Farz prayer and refrain from getting into groups in Sahen/Corridors/ Lawn however Sunnah and Nawafil should be offered at homes/offices. This restrictio­n also applies for regular prayers where numbers exceed 100 to enable those waiting to offer their prayers.

It is compulsory for all those coming for prayers to bring their personal Musallah (Prayer Mats).

Due to limited parking spaces members are requested to engage in carpooling to avoid congestion and inconvenie­nce.

Handshakes and hugging are strongly discourage­d at all times.

Anyone who is sick must stay at home and in particular those with a cough.
