Music in the air as Plantation Island Resort reopens

Rivers Fiji is offering special rates for day long inland adventure over roads and rivers, for those who want a change of scenery. The Pacific Harbour-based company said the rates are part of the company’s post COVID-19 recovery measure.

Rivers Fiji, pioneers of whitewater rafting in Fiji, offers $70 packages for locals , and $120 for non-Fiji passport holders who have been in the country for over three months.

Children below the age of 12 years get 50 per cent off the cost.

The packages will be available from July 4, and will cover travel to and from the upper Navua conservati­on area.

Rivers Fiji said customers leave Pacific Harbour at 7am for the interior of Navua, in a drive than spans just over two hours.

At the final destinatio­n, the whitewater rafts depart the upper Navua river for a 18 kilometres paddle.

The package includes a light lunch of sandwiches, fruits and juice.

At 3pm, the rafting ends at Wainadiro Village, along the Navua River, from where customers are transporte­d back to Pacific Harbour on a 90minute drive.

Rivers Fiji offers three types of packages: ■ upper Navua rafting, a day-long adventure.

■high●a■ds to islands ultimate Fiji explorer, which is an eight day event, and,

■ middle Navua inflatable rafting, a day event.

Rivers Fiji said; “In 2006, the upper Navua conservati­on area became Fiji’s first, officially designated Ramsar site - protected wetland of internatio­nal importance, making it among more than 1280 wetlands around the world which now include nearly two million square kilometers of the Earth’s surface area.”
