Troops from Sinai back home, go to 14-day quarantine
The 162 Republic of Fiji Military Forces personnel who arrived at the Nadi International Airport from Sinai yesterday morning are now under quarantine at a Government-funded facility.
They will be monitored by Ministry of Health staff over the next 14 days before meeting their families. They served in Sinai under the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO).
RFMF Commander, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto had said quarantine was necessary because the personnel were returning from a high-risk environment.
Some of the local civilian staff in Egypt had tested positive for COVID-19.
The troops returned home on board a Royal Australian Air Force transport plan.
