Suva rugby players are keen to get into game shape before the Skipper Cup Premiership competition kicks off on July 25.

The defending champions will face Farebrother Challenge Series holders Nadroga in a doubleheader at Lawaqa Park.

Yesterday, the players which included national 7s squad members, trained at Bidesi Ground for the showdown in Sigatoka.

Prime Minister and Fiji Rugby Union president Voreqe Bainimarama gave the green light for domestic competitions to commence with contact sports now permitted and stadiums allowing 50 per cent capacity.

FRU chief executive officer John O’Connor said Unions and all involved have been instructed to download the careFiji app and complete the World Rugby online COVID-19 return to play course.

He said it was key for all involved to embrace the new normal in relation to return to play guidelines set by both by the Fijian Government and World Rugby.

The Vodafone Vanua Championship will kick off on August 22.
