NZ FOCUSES ON BORDER SAFE, SECURE IN COVID-19 FIGHT

Wellington: The New Zealand government is focusing on keeping the country’s border safe and secure in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, Health Minister David Clark said.

“With no community transmissi­on of COVID-19 our response now has a firm focus on keeping our border safe and secure,” Mr Clark said in a statement.

The government is also prioritisi­ng its latest investment in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for frontline health workers, including staff at managed isolation and quarantine facilities, according to the minister.

“We must ensure that anyone who is interactin­g with people entering the country from overseas, where the spread of COVID-19 is growing not slowing, has access to proper PPE,” he said.
