Fines-Leleiwasa’s biggest break

- Simione Haravanua

Halfback Issak Fines-Leleiwasa is set to play his first game for the Brumbies in tonight’s Super Rugby AU clash against the Rebels at the GIO Stadium in Canberra. The Kaba, Tailevu native has been named on the reserves by Brumbies coach Dan McKellar.

The former Australian Under-20 rep played for Western Force during the Global Rapid Rugby (GRR) last year. Force coach Tim Sampson who had seen Fines-Leleiwasa’s progression over the past couple of years has rated him highly. “He’s a very talented player,” Sampson told The West Australian.

“If I can compare him to someone it would be All Black Aaron Smith.

He’s lightning quick and he is a genuine threat around the breakdown.” The match kicks off at 9.05pm.
