ROC Market Continues ‘Exclusive’ Success
The Nausori ROC Market continued its success yesterday, as hundreds of people flocked to the fare in Nausori.
Event organiser Alana Kalounisiga said the “baby ROC market” was half the monthly market hosted in Suva.
“The Nausori ROC market will be held every first Saturday
of the month,”she said.
Exclusivity
Mrs Kalounisiga said the market was exclusive in content as vendors were selected for their authentic artisian and hand-made craft. Most vendors were locals, she said.
“We’re not a general market.”
The Nausori ROC market, which featured 70 vendors this week, is the only other event of its kind outside of Suva, Mrs Kalounisiga said. “We’d like to keep it at two municipalities because of its exclusive nature.”
Crowd puller
It is the second time the ROC market has featured in Nausori.
Mrs Kalounisiga said the crowd puller was Spit Roast Fiji.
Jewellery was another exciting feature of the daylong event, she said.
“There’s lazer-cut jewellery, glass jewellery, and home made chutneys - things of that sort.”
Suva
Meanwhile, the Suva ROC Market will hold its July event next Saturday at Thurston Garden, as it joins the French embassy in commemorating Bastille Day.
