Victoria’s COVID-19 Cases Surge
Australia reported 115 new coronavirus cases, with 108 of those recorded in Victoria on Saturday. Victoria’s triple-digit spike forced the immediate lockdown of nine public housing towers containing
3000 residents for five days.
Residents of the tower blocks now face the strictest coronavirus restrictions in the country.
Two more Melbourne postcodes have stay-athome orders, bringing the total number of postcodes considered hot spots to 12.
Postcodes of 3031 and 3051 will go back into lockdown at 11.59pm on Saturday.
