ANOTHER SCHEME?

There’s a lot of talk on social media that a possible pyramid scam is doing the rounds yet again.

We hear that it’s an invitationonly event and no recording devices are allowed during the session.

They’ve had a few sessions at Albert Park and at other venues.

Like similar schemes, those who get in early and market the product or service well, are likely to get more doe than others.

And everyone who sign up, they are expected to recruit others.

Also, you will be expected to use certain vocabulary when talking about the product to others.

Here’s a warning: “If in doubt, leave out.”

KUDOS, DR ALISHA

Well done to Fiji’s Head of Health Protection Dr Alisha Sahu Khan for nailing it on Aljazeera’s

The Stream programme hosted by Femi Oke.

When asked about the similarities between the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change, Dr Alisha said both were predicted by scientists years ago.

“Quite often around the world, people don’t think that some things will affect them. They see something happening in far off countries - for example, in the Pacific, you get coastal inundation, sea-level rise, an increase in severe weather events - but, we may not look like you, we may not sound like you - but one day it will affect you. it will affect your neighbour, it will affect you directly. This has happened in the COVID-19 pandemic where it started in China, now it’s everywhere. The same thing is happening and will happen about climate change.”
