Tabuya’s trial case set in October
The trial for SODELPA Member of Parliament Lynda Tabuya’s case will go ahead as planned after no new motions were filed during the pre-trial conference.
Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili said if anything else arose in the matter, the counsel or prosecution could file a motion to the court.
Tabuya had pleaded not guilty to one count of Malicious Act.
It is alleged that on March 19 Tabuya posted false news on her Facebook page relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her posts are alleged to have the intention of creating public alarm, anxiety or disaffection.
Tabuya bail was extended.
