Happy birthday FBC

Happy birthday to the Fijian Broadcasting Corporation. It has been a long journey from 1954. From the limited hours of broadcast each day to reaching the pinnacle of broadcasting 24 hours day and night.

When I walk along Gladstone Road, the memories of the old building are still fresh in my mind.

Especially the recording studio room, where the six radio stations are now. To those of us who were fortunate to do some recordings inside, I can still remember how cold the studio room was.

From the manual typewritting era, changing of ribbons, carrying the recording machine for a recording assignment, rewind and fastforward of recording tapes that makes a lot of scratchy noises, taking photos that will be developed in a few days time to the modern technologies of the 21st century. Congratulations FBC! You are still number one.
