Samson and Family show support to hotel staff
Investment officer Frederico Samson and his family were part of the Beach, Beats and Eats at the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort over the weekend and their happiness came from seeing the staff happy.
“Of course it is a pleasure to be here on the weekend but we have come here to show our support for the staff,” Mr Samson said.
He had travelled down with his wife Seini, twin sons Ethan and Samuel and the youngest Joshua for the Beach, Beats and Eats event hosted by the resort.
“While we could come here because of the local rates, we are here mainly to support these workers who have been without work for some time since the resort closed in March.

“We are happy that by supporting the event by staying here, at least we are helping these workers have a job.”
Mr Samson said this was also a chance for his family to get out of Suva for a weekend after going through a lockdown and the continuous presence of news and talk about COVID-19.
“This was also like a way to take a break from all these things.
“Enjoying the resort and actually the first time here at the Fijian and so far so good.
“Our children would not probably understand the present situation around the world right now but for us the adults we need to take a break now and again and relax in places like this.”
Mr Samson said he was also taken a back by the service of the staff at the resort.
“Like I said – all in all so good so far.”
