Rosy Akbar reassures that schools will stay OPEN DESPITE COVID-19 cases in quarantine
The Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Rosy Akbar is encouraging parents to send their children to school despite the eight cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Fiji.
Ms Akbar said schools would remain open for all students and classes would proceed normally.
“This should not disturb our school activities,” she said.
She said those cases were in quarantine while the Ministry of Health and Medical Services and the authorities were looking into them.
“The assurance is given by the health ministry that schools are safe,” Ms Akbar said.
She said the teachers had been given clear instructions on how to COVID-proof the school facilities.
