Trial of man who allegedly raped his partner commences

The trial of a 36-year-old man accused of raping his de facto partner began at the High Court in Suva on Monday.

The accused appeared before judge Justice Daniel Goundar for his oneweek trial.

He is charged with one count each of rape and assault with intent to commit rape.

The alleged incident happened on July 15, 2018, in Tailevu.
