EU Ambassador hands over Bua resources

As part of the ‘Team Europe’ response to COVID-19, the Ambassador and Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation for the Pacific Sujiro Seam began his visit to the Northern Division on Tuesday. He visited the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) based at Naulumatua House in Bua, which was refurbishe­d with the support of the EU under the Building Safety and Resilience in the Pacific (BSRP) project.

‘‘I am looking forward to visiting projects and meeting communitie­s supported by the EU in Vanua Levu,” Mr Seam said.

He visited the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) based at Naulumatua House in Bua

“As part of ‘Team Europe’ response to COVID-19, I will hand over some important agricultur­al resources and tools, which will not only help people in these difficult times, but also build the capacity and resilience of local communitie­s to face the impacts of climate change, in line with the European Green Deal.’’

He will end his three-day visit today.
