Japanese menu, vegetarian burgers, Friday BBQ’s soon
Gloria Jean’s newest outlet in Suva will soon include Japanese dishes and vegetarian burgers on its menu. The Thurston Street café is the first of Ariel de Asa’s seven franchise outlets to offer guests a full breakfast and lunch menu.
The five top selling items at Gloria Jean’s café are the Big Breakfast, burgers, chicken pies, pizzas and sandwiches. Most prices of food range from $5.95 to $12.95, Mr de Asa said.
“Most of our meals are around $9.95,” he said.
“We offer more breakfast options such pancakes, omelets along with usual muffins and variety of bread - choc bread, coconut bread, Spanish bread, Danish, croissants and donuts, to name a few.”
The lunch menu includes American favourites - fish fingers, chicken burgers, and hotdogs.
The Italian menu comprises spaghetti and meatballs, and chicken carbonara, Mr de Asa said.
The proposed Japanese menu will include sushi and chicken katsu curry, he said.
“Weather permitting, we will be able to kick off our BBQ lunches on Fridays.”

A variety of cakes and other desserts are also available to complement that perfect cup of coffee or piping pot of tea. Gloria Jean’s Thurston Street cafe opens Mondays to Fridays, from 7am to 7pm.
