Chief executive officer Priya Singh hopes to boost Ba
New Ba Town Council chief executive officer Priya Singh says she has already identified policies that need improvement and amendments.
“I am very excited on taking this new opportunity and I look forward to working with the team at the council, the special administrators and the community at large for the future developments in Ba Town,” she said.
She plans to meet key partners to devise solid future plans for the council.
“The plan is to engage stakeholders, staff of the council and special administrators on the strategic vision development for the town and also to promote public involvement in municipality’s activities,” she said.
Her employment, is on a contract basis, however, she plans to cultivate key partnerships.
“We will be calling for a stakeholder meeting in the coming days to discuss how we can work on improving the services. There are lots of plans for the town, which we will engage the stakeholders so together we can deliver community expectations with innovative developments,” she said.
Background
Ms Singh has a strong accounting background and knowledge of a wide range of financial practices.
She is a member of CPA Australia, a Chartered Accountant with Fiji Institute of Accountants, Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and serves on the Strategic Plan Committee of the Fiji Institute of Accountants.
She is pursuing Executive Masters in Business Administration at the Fiji National University and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting and a Bachelor of Commerce Majoring in Accounting and Finance from the Fiji National University.
Previous positions she served are Manager Finance and Investments at Fijian Holdings Limited Fund Management Limited and Company Secretary for Fijian Holdings Limited Trustees Limited. Prior to this she was Manager Finance, Administration, Human Resource and Company Secretary with Fiji Television Limited.
