Jet fuel pipeline leak contained’

- WAISEA NASOKIA Edited by Ranoba Baoa

The spill from the jet fuel pipeline at Waimalika, Nadi, yesterday was quickly contained by Joint User Hydrant Installation (JUHI).

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the incident saying it was small in nature.

The underground trunk line is managed by JUHI which transports the Jet fuel from Vuda Point to the Nadi International Airport. JUHI Health Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) officer Mark Olig when contacted referred all queries to Pacific Energy SWP Limited chief executive officer Randall Vallette.

Mr Vallette said they were awaiting the report from JUHI, which was a separate entity, and that the report would also help to determine the cause of the leak.
