Naupoto Commends Navy’s 45-year Work
The RFMF Naval Division conducted a parade to mark its 45th anniversary yesterday morning.
The Commander of the RFMF Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto reviewed the celebration parade.
In his address, the Commander RFMF congratulated the Navy for the milestone and thanked the members for their commitment and dedication to their roles.
Specifically the contribution of the RFMF at the forefront of the national effort to contain COVID-19. He reiterated that given the uncertainty the pandemic had brought, it was critical that the RFMF Naval Division be prepared for the long haul.
Despite its commitment in COVID-19 taskings, the Navy should maintain the momentum in their core roles which are Search and Rescue, Maritime Surveillance and Law enforcement at sea, Hydrographic surveys and operating the coastal radio station.
The Rear Admiral Naupoto concluded his address by challenging members of the RFN to remain steadfast to the three pillars which he viewed the Navy was built upon. These are:
1. The collective of acknowledgement of God as the guiding power and beacon.
2. Loyalty to the institution, to the values of the institution, loyalty to leadership and loyalty to each others.
3. Commitment to service.
The commemoration of the RFN’s 45th anniversary will conclude on Friday.
