Students and teachers of Navatu Secondary School in Natewa Bay, Cakaudrove, are grateful to the Government and Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) for putting their struggle to an end.

Since its establishment in the school has now received supply.

Principal Tomasi Ilikena said the challenges they had to endure because of no power supply had now ended.

“We thank the Government for making it possible for us and villages around to have EFL posts,” Mr Ilikena said.

“During the school closure, we used the fund from the development account to buy all the materials needed to get the wiring done for the office.”

He said now the staff could do a lot of work with ease.

“We do not need to worry about buying fuel for the generator and getting the solar system fixed up,” he said.

“We hope the Department of Energy would help us in the wiring of other school buildings, teachers’ quarters, hostel buildings.

Nasinu District School and Lovoniqai community are all waiting for the wiring of their houses and school buildings.

The school has a roll of 245 students from Year 9 to 13 and 23 teachers.
