Lenoa: Let’s keep believing

- SIMIONE HARAVANUA Edited by Leone Cabenatabua

For the first time, the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) conducted an official flag raising ceremony yesterday to mark that we are a year away from the Tokyo Olympic Games.

FASANOC president Makereta Leona said the event would motivate our athletes to keep chasing their Olympic dreams.

“FASANOC held the official flag raising ceremony for the very first time to mark the one-year count down to the Tokyo Olympic Games,” Lennoa said.

The International Olympic Committee flag was raised with the Japan and Fijian national flags.

“We are reminded of the spirit within us that has the power to rise and create a future that we desire, and see in faith despite what we currently face, hear and experience,” she said.

“As we begin this one-year countdown let us not be disturbed by the externals.

“But instead let our thoughts, words and actions be aligned to the significance of today and the results we desire in the 2020 Olympic Games in 2021.

“Team Fiji looks forward to participate in next year’s games and I invite us all to be united in keeping the faith.”

Lennoa urged the general public and the sporting federations to keep believing that the Games will happen next year. Feedback: simione.haravanua@ fijisun.com.fj
