12 men in NadrogaNavosa sedition case to continue appeal

Twelve men, who were convicted and sentenced on sedition charges, have decided to continue with their appeal against conviction despite serving their jail terms.

Their matter was called at the Fiji Court of Appeal before Justice Chandana Prematilaka yesterday.

The court heard that the appellants had served all their sentences, however, the court was told that the appellants were still pursuing their appeal against conviction. Justice Prematilaka has given time to the appellant counsel and respondent State counsel to ensure all grounds were addressed in the written submissions.

The matter will be called for mention on August 26.
