A landowner was produced in the Nausori Magistrates Court yesterday for engaging in alleged corrupt practice.

Mosese Ranavue was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) with two counts of General Dishonesty – Obtaining a Gain.

It is alleged that he demanded good will payments on three separate occasions under the pretense that payment would guarantee the leasing of land to the two individuals when the decision did not rest with him, but with the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB).

He is alleged to have gained a total amount of $3600 from these payments. The accused was released on bail. The matter was adjourned to September 4.
