The assistance of food hampers towards tourism workers who were laid off or terminated from their jobs continues. The Rotary Club of Lautoka (District 9920) distributed 50 food hampers to a number of families at Vatukarasa Village in Sigatoka. The club’s youth ambassador and projects, Melissa Natawake, said the members were always looking forward to assisting the different families.

“Vatukarasa is the biggest village in the Baravi area, and those villages from Korotogo to Namatakula along the Coral Coast are where majority of the villagers who work in the tourism, ecotourism and hospitality have been affected.”

The assistance was made possible by a grant from the Rotary Club of Otahuhu, Auckland.
