The Ministry of iTaukei Affairs is expected to complete all required processes in order to set up a Tabua Shop in Fiji.

Mr Waibuta said the ministry was working with the Ministry of Environment, Fisheries and the Ministry of Economy.

He added the ministry hadput a quota of 227 tabua per year or 18 tabua per month, which were to leave the country.

Mr Waibuta said funds had been allocated to continue the consultation of the proposed “village by laws”.

“The ministry has changed the name to the ‘Review of Village Guidelines’ and we have our staff who are continuing this consultations,” he said.

The Ministry of iTaukei Affairs will host a National iTaukei Festival in order to revive iTaukei traditions and customs later on in the year.
