Chandra wins Ba stroke event
National rep Rohit Chandra won the Shakun’s Rental sponsored stroke event at the Ba Golf Club at Rarawai, Ba on Sunday.
Chandra, who is also the Golf Fiji tournament director, carded 69 ahead of Rahul Kumar, a bank officer who shot 72 to settle for second spot in the A-grade.
In the B-grade sales rep Sailesh Kumar shot 70 to claim first place ahead of SM Sharif who shot 71. Ramen Chaudhary scored 71 to beat Yash Kumar 77 for first place in the C-Grade. Ba Golf Club vice-captain Rohit Chandra said: “We will have our season opening at the end of the month.” He thanked Shakti Singh, the director of Shakun’s Rental for their sponsorship.
Other results: Best Junior Prize - Yash Kumar, NTP Rajen Singh and Longest Drive -Sailesh Kumar.
Chauhan tops in Nadi
Nadi businessman Vinod Chauhan took out the VC Builders-sponsored 18 holes stableford event at the Nadi Airport Golf club on Saturday.
Chauhan carded 35 points to overcome Ashok Goundar who shot 34 points to settle for second spot.
Former national rep Sulu Brook finished third with 32 points.
