- WAISEA NASOKIA Feedback: waisean@fijisun.com.fj

Ba goalkeeper Misiwane Narube will not play in the 2020 Punjas Battle of the Giants football tournament which kicks off at Churchill Park, Lautoka on Friday.

Team managers Ranveer Singh said Narube has yet to recover since he was injured against Lautoka during the Vodafone Premier League match last month.

“Narube has still not recovered and Isikeli Seva Jnr will replace him,”Singh said.

He said eteran midfielder Malakai Tiwa and forward Darold Kakasi would play for the Men in Black. Both were rested in the 3-1 victory over Suva last Saturday.

“Both were nursing injuries so they rested against Suva. Now they are both training and they should be on the run-on team on Friday,” he said.

Singh said Ba would be in full force to claim its record 18th B.O.G title this year.

“The young side has shown a lot of positivity and now play more structured football,”he said.

Ba captain Saula Waqa said the youngsters should be ready for the job.

He said the win over Suva was a good dress rehearsal as they were in Pool A with defending champions Labasa and Nasinu.

“It was a good build-up to the

B.O.G,” he said.

Ba has played in 24 finals since hosting the inaugural B.O.G in 1978. Ba won the title for a record of 17 times.
