Unit withdraws appeal case against Vosarogo

The Legal Practitioners Unit (LPU) has withdrawn an appeal for an interim practising certificate issued to Suva lawyer, Filimoni Vosarogo, in 2017.

The Chief Registrar had appealed on an interim practising certificate issued to Mr Vosarogo in 2017. The case was heard at the Fiji Court of Appeal before Justice Almeida Guneratne yesterday.

The appeal had stemmed from an interlocutory judgment made by the former commissioner. It was in relation to the application of an interim Practising Certificate made by Mr Vosarogo. The application was granted.

The court heard that the unit withdrew the case because the action had become a moot point.
