WOMAN, 70, LATEST ROAD FATALITY

A 70-year-old woman has passed away after she was allegedly bumped by a bus while crossing the road. Police spokespers­on Ana Naisoro said the bus driver was a 48-year-old man. She said the alleged incident occurred at the Matanikoro­vatu Road junction in Nasinu.

The victim, Indra Wati, who was from Baulevu, Nausori, was crossing the road when the alleged incident occurred.

Ms Naisoro said the driver was being questioned as investigat­ions continued. The road death toll currently stands at 19 compared to 30 for the same period last year.
