Western Force Lakeba are geared up for today’s East versus West cricket clash at Albert Park in Suva. After the completion of the Cricket Fiji T10 Bash last weekend, the top four teams from the competition are going to battle for the top spots.

Today’s games is a preview and warm-up games ahead of the T20 cricket competition that gets underway on August 22.

Western Force Lakeba manager Sevu Baba said they were ready to play.

“Our focus is now on Police,” he said.

“Our training this week is based on the way the Police team plays, so we are prepared for them.

“Police have a lot of experienced players that will provide a lot of competition for us.

“We will go in as underdogs and try to give them a good game. So we urge all our fans to come and support the team.” Cricket Fiji chief executive Alex Konrote said the games would be a thriller.

“All four teams are going for a win. It goes to show that cricket is growing and it’s good to see our supporters turning up to watch,” Konrote said.

“We have selected two teams in the women’s category so they can have some game time similarly with the West Under-19 boys’ team who are playing Suva.”
