Nadroga too strong

- Sereana Salalo

Nadroga proved too strong for Tailevu winning 33-3 at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, yesterday.

Despite the bonus win, skipper Rupeni Nasiga said they need to work on their discipline.

What happened: The Stallions dominated the 80 minutes playing mostly at Tailevu’s territory with the forwards in full control.

Nadroga led 19 - 0 at halftime with tries to wing Avimeleki Nadeba and veteran halfback Emosi Vucago. They were awarded a penalty try as Tailevu kept on collapsing the scrum resulting in Tailevu’s loose-head prop Noa Bula being sin-binned in the 19th minute.

Nadroga extended their lead in the second half, with tries to number eight Ulaiasi Lawavou and loosehead prop Apete Salawaqavuka. Simione Kuruvoli booted a penalty for Tailevu in the last minute. Comment: Tailevu coach Solomone Nute said, “We did not control our set pieces. We have so many weaknesses.

“We can’t scrum and our lineout was poor. We have to go back to the drawing board”.
