A Birthday With a Difference for Tourism Man
It was a birthday party with a difference for Castaway Island Resort general manager, Steven Andrews, who chose to celebrate it with the street dwellers of Nadi. Mr Andrews celebrated his 52nd birthday on Tuesday night at the new Nair Dias, one of Nadi Town’s landmarks.
His special guests were treated to food and juice, and later joined by Pastor Meli Vulaisekalo to cut his birthday cake. “I turned 52 today and considering what the world is going through including Fiji, I thought to celebrate it with those who are more unfortunate than us,” he said.
Hours before his birthday, his family thought about going to the streets and blessing the homeless and beggars.
And Mr Andrews was a happy man, saying he had indeed enjoyed his special day.
“Over the five decades, this is one of the best birthdays I have celebrated. This birthday is about celebrating life in general and appreciating the life I have.”
