Nanuku Opens Its Doors to Hospitality Students for Complimentary Training
Upskilling and reskilling have been a strong focus for Nanuku Auberge Resort throughout the COVID-19 downturn.
Not only for Nanuku staff, but also for local students as part of the resorts continued community outreach.
In line with Nanuku’s strong brand ethos of social sustainability; Nanuku partnered with the Femmus School of Hospitality.
The resort opened its doors earlier this month for a day of practical training and morning tea for 26 enthusiastic students.
Just prior to their graduation from a four-week intensive course; covering front-office management, reservations and housekeeping. Students aged between 16 to 42 years-old gained expert insights into Nanuku’s first-class service.
Nanuku’s team member Leba Nayacalevu led students from local villages through the resort’s professional housekeeping practices, including new mum Remi Vani who was accompanied by her four-month old son Luke. Founded in 2001 by Director Uate
Nanuku Auberge Resort general manager Logan Miller Tamanikaiyaroi, the Femmus School of Hospitality has in its impressive alumni three former graduates who currently work at Nanuku Auberge Resort.
Logan Miller, General Manager of Nanuku, says: “We are delighted to be able to support our local community during this downtime in any way we can.
“While the resort is at low occupancy due to the current pandemic, it’s the perfect opportunity to support local business.
“As well as the hospitality industry; which in turn, will benefit Fijian tourism as a whole.”
