APPOINTMEN­T OF NEW BOARD DIRECTORS ON FIJIAN HOLDINGS LTD

Fijian Holdings Limited confirms the appointmen­t of 3 new directors to its board effective 15th August 2020.According to Clause 51.1 of Articles of Associatio­n of Fijian Holdings Limited, the Minister for iTaukei Affairs can appoint up to six Directors to the Board. Accordingl­y, the new directors namely, Mereia Volavola, Savendra Dayal and Eseta Nadatuitav­uki will join the FHL Board.

Ms. Nadatuitav­uki has more than 30 years’ experience in the banking sector and has attended various internatio­nal training. She has various corporate governance affiliatio­n and has been an advocate of women empowermen­t and women participat­ion in business.

Ms. Volavola also has more than 30 years of experience and specialize in private sector developmen­t, internatio­nal trade, corporate finance with vast experience in commerce. She holds MBA in Banking and Finance from the University of Wales.

Mr. Dayal is a businessma­n and held various executive role at Johnson & Johnson in Fiji & Australia for the past 20 years.

He holds a Master in Business & Administra­tion and a Post Graduate in Economic from USP. Mr Dayal is also director on the board of Fiji Sugar Corporatio­n.

In welcoming the new Directors, Group Acting Chairman Yogesh Karan said “We are pleased to welcome a group of profession­als to the Board who have years of experience in the commercial sector and will further enhance the board capacity to deliver strategic guidance to the management of FHL group”.

The Chairman also mentioned the group has faced tremendous challenges with the effects of COVID19 affecting all facets of business and looks forward to working with new directors in managing the coming months where uncertaint­ies remain around the effects of COVID19.
