Volivoli Beach Resort & Ra Diver Sales and Marketing executive Simon Doughty shared the processes of becoming a newly certified Open water diver.

Simple three steps
Mr Doughty highlighted the simple three-step process:
■Step # 1 complete the online E-Learning theory at your own pace and in the safety and comfort of your own home,
■Step # 2 meet onsite at Volivoli Beach Resort for a review session and equipment familiarisation workshop.
And then step into one of their five onsite swimming pools to put into practice what you learnt during step # 1 under close supervision and guidance from Fiji’s most experienced and qualified Dive Instructors until you are safe, comfortable and confident,
■Step # 3 move into the ocean with your Instructor to put into practice what you have learnt during step # 2 in the ‘real world’ and explore Fiji’s # 1 Dive Region, the world famous
Bligh Water.
Dive operation
“Our in-house dive operation, Ra Divers Fiji, has been diving and teaching in the incredible Bligh Water for 30-years this year and our team have taught many thousandss of divers over that period.
“Lately, we have had the pleasure to introduce many local residents to the beautiful underwater world surrounding Fiji.
“And give them the opportunity to see why divers from around the world flock to dive the Bligh Water.
“It is known as the ‘soft coral capital of the world’ and home to some of the planets healthiest and most colourful reef system.

He said in 2019, they produced over 13-million litres of clean breathing gas (Air & Nitrox) for our divers to enjoy their underwater paradise. “Added to the facilities themselves, we have five purpose built dive boats and modern serviced rental equipment for our guests,” he said.
