Grace Road Group’s new $4 million complex along the Queens Highway has presented a new look to Nawaicoba in Nadi

It will allow nearby residents to save costs on items and travelling expenses into Nadi Town.

It will also allow commuters along the highway comfort with its Sunny Pizza restaurant and modern service station service. Grace Road Group president Daniel Kim said in light of COVID-19, there was no grand opening for the new service station. The complex features the Mobil Service Station, True Mart supermarket and the Sunny Pizza restaurant.

Target group

The selection of the area was based on the Group’s belief of being amongst the most vulnerable as depicted by their base at Navua.

“Our heart is always in the rural areas – not the in urban places,” he said.

“We have a lot of communities living nearby and also look after the travellers along the highway.

“The building is around 1000 square metres and sits on one and a half acres of land that was left idle.”

He said Mobil was surprised that they managed to build the service station in such a short period. Construction began in January this year.

“Our target is not the high end so that goes in line with Grace Road Group plans to focus on food security for the people.

“People have to continue buying, even in these times so we have to make essential food items affordable for them.”

He said Grace Road Group had noted the recent decrease in the value of some food items through the recent budget and True Mart would pass it down to their customers. “Our Sunny Pizza restaurant has a variety of food which includes fresh vegetables from our farms.

“There will also be coffee available for those travelling to work in the mornings. “We have adopted the farm to table concept and this is what we want people to understand when they come and eat here.” Mr Kim said their modern and spacious conveniences were also opened to the public “whether they come in to buy food or not.” The complex, which will be opened from 6am to 10pm from Monday to Saturday.

It will employ close to 40 local staff from nearby areas with Grace Road Group staff managing the place. Grace Road Group does not open for business on Sundays.
