The National Federa - tion Party ( NFP) has been given time until next Friday to sort out their accounts. NFP general secretary Seni Nabou with party members met the Registrar of Political Parties, Mohammed Saneem at the Fijian Elections Office in Toorak, Suva yesterday. Mr Saneem had noted discrepancies to the tune of $103,049 in the NFP’s account. He said they had their meeting with the finance representatives of the NFP.

Mr Saneem said NFP had been given the full details of the issues identified with NFP’s accounts for the year 2018. “They have been asked to provide their responses to those issues until next week Friday,” Mr Saneem said. “Once those responses are in, we will consider them.” Mr Saneem said it may be that there needed to be some revision of the accounts to make the accounts accurate, however, they would deal with that once he has received the responses.

“We have had detailed discussions on various issues identified and we have been assured that responses will be provided to us on those matters,” he said.

“Some of it is to do with the accounting side of things and we expect from their accountant that he will be able to provide us with all the information that is required.

“NFP provided a list of donors with names of people and sources of those funds.

“The generic information as required by the law has been furnished to us by NFP and all other parties,” Mr Saneem said.

They said we were asleep, we were not asleep. You were doing nothing. It is better to be sleeping than doing nothing, and they were doing nothing

Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum

A very good morning to you, Sir. Sometimes when you are exasperated by the court here led by Biman, please remember the words of the great Bruce Lee, if you point a finger away to the moon, you will miss all the heavenly glory if you concentrate on the finger. These people will not accept the good things. It will be easier to write on water than to talk sense in to them. Wishing you a very happy and blessed weekend and God Bless.
