Father’s Day

Bhagwanji Bhindi, Suva

A father is a blessing from God. A father is special and unique. A father does everything to provide for each member of the family, sacrificing his time, energy and effort. He goes through extremes, foregoing many necessities, suffering so much, but turns our dreams into realities. A father fulfills all our promises to give us happiness and security. His hard work and dedication is enduring. He handles all challenges with great determination and perseverance. His understanding and judgement is supreme under every extreme. His friendliness, sympathy and understanding are reassuring and comforting. In the face of danger and uncertainty surrounding us, his stoic resistance and dependability is outstanding. A father shows us the meaning of relationships and life. He imparts good principles and values to all children. A father wants nothing but gives everything. A father’s love is unconditional and unlimited. And we all flourish endlessly in his love and care. A father is a special gift from the Lord.

Many thanks to all the fathers in Fiji and the world. Wishing every father a happy Father’s Day.

Cheap booze

Ronnie Chang, Nadi

Alcohol is relatively cheaper.

For the dollar, more alcohol is readily available.

An increasing number of intoxicated curfew breakers is sadly noted every 24 hours.

Here’s a suggestion for all intoxicated curfew breakers.

Mandatory 200 hours community service in our cemeteries, public toilets, outdoor duties in hospitals and health centres, schools, homes of the elderly, paraplegic centres, spinal injury centres. All under strictest supervision.
