First Supermarket For Fantasy Island
Fantasy Island, the $ 80 million gated community development in Nadi, has seen the opening of its first supermarket.
Pure Ocean’s Superette opened its doors to the residents on this private property.
Owned by Navneet Dutt and his wife Vandhana Sharma, the Superette will be the second outlet for the couple with the first being at Palms Drive in Wailoaloa, close to the tourism centre. Speaking during the opening, the company’s financial accountant, Ronald Madhwan, said it was a proud moment that Pure Ocean was the first shopping centre on Fantasy Island. “Pure Ocean started its venture back in 2014 as a humble Dairy Shop based at Westfield Road, near the airport,” Mr Madhwan said.
“It offered customers a decent shopping experience, fast- food takeaways and also became a spot for unwinding around a basin of kava after work for many.
“Then in 2018, the opportunity came up to grow the business bigger and Pure Ocean moved its operations from Westfield to Palms Drive at Wailoaloa. “It quickly became a very convenient shopping centre for guests at the many
hotels around Wailoaloa as well as for the picnic-goers at Wailoaloa Beach. “Services extended from groceries to a fully licensed liquor shop.” Mr Madhwan said at the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020, coronavirus turned the world down, and they as a company were still reeling from the shock.
However, he said, this had not stopped the team at Pure Ocean led by Mr Dutt, from taking bold business steps to continue its investment venture.
“And now everyone are part of the grand opening of Pure Ocean’s Fantasy Island shopping outlet located at Marina Road,” he said.
This retail outlet will provide a variety of groceries, confectioneries wines, beers and liquor for residents and nearby communities.
The Superette opens Monday to Sunday from 8am to 8pm.
