WHO DO YOU SLEEP WITH? HOLIDAY GHOST TOWN

-

During these trying times unfortunately people in better positions try all sorts of tricks to bypass the processes.

Unfortunately, for one of the self- proclaimed wannabes who tried to skip waiting lines with his entourage was caught and booted out. A beautiful evening event was buzzing when a sharp eye caught on to the entourage who were trying to skip the lines.

After she called them out for it. The so called leader or Ratu of the pack acted all defensive and rude cursing the lady who was only doing her job.

Luckily, she was right and he was trying to get into the event for free. Her response to his manic: “I don’t care if you’re sleeping with the queen, no ticket, out!”

It was surprising that few shops, restaurants were open for business in downtown Suva during Constitution Day. Such a let- down as people were out and about hoping to grab something to eat and do some more shopping. Businesses should consider also operating on holidays, at least for half a day.

POLICE PATROL

Party seekers in the West were surprised with the heavy Police presence over the weekend.

Following the stabbing incident at Wailoaloa

Beach two weekends ago, Police have left no room for complacency.

A Police checkpoint was set up a few metres away from a strip of hotels at Wailoaloa and a popular beach side drinking spot was ordered to close at 9pm.

Although patrons were disappointed with the early closure, it’s encouraging to see that people can enjoy their weekend getaways knowing the Police is there.

GOOD SAMARITAN

A man from Flagstaff, Suva met Ms Parvati at Siberia in Labasa in person to give her $ 500.

He contacted the Fiji Sun journalist who wrote Ms Parvati’s story about her working in a sugarcane field last month.

The 69-year- old grandmother was in tears when she met the iTaukei man who praised her for working hard to support her family.

When Fiji Sun approached him for an article, he said it’s a matter of helping mankind and removing racial discrimination than revealing his name. We still have very good citizens who take out time to help those in need despite the financial difficulties we are going through.
