Tough battle for Suva netball semifinals

Suva Netball Association president, Georgina Lasaqa has praised teams for their participation throughout the season. Teams are going into semi finals this week, while the major (men’s) and golden categories will be having its final.

“Teams have come up fighting hard, we had two sets of extra time which shows that teams have come well prepared,” she said.

“We will see how the top players perform to pull their teams up to the semifinals on Saturday.

“There are this week to fight for their space, even though some teams are in the lower part of the pool, they can prove themselves to be in the semis next week.

“The improvement in team numbers have been overwhelming, we have to push teams to Nasinu because we could not cater.

“And for next year we will make sure to cater big teams that we could not get in this year, like the Wardens team,” Lasaqa added.

SNA did not have any sponsors this year, however, they are hopeful that they will secure one next year. “Basically we just running from the player’s money from team registration and gate takings and hopefully next year we will be able to get another support from a sponsor,” she said.
