Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 3:30pm on Wednesday the 30th of September 2020.

Situation: An active trough of low pressure with cloud and rain affects the group. It is expected to clear the group from tonight.

Meanwhile, a moist northerly wind flow prevails over the country.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji Group: Today: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over the eastern parts of Vitilevu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group with isolated heavy falls expected. Elsewhere, Occasional showers with isolated heavy falls expected especially in the afternoon or evening. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

Tomorrow: Cloudy periods with some showers over Lau group, Lomaiviti group, the eastern and interior parts of larger islands. Elsewhere, cloudy periods with isolated afternoon or evening showers.

Moderate northerly winds. Winds expected to gradually turn and become southerly as the trough passes.

Moderate seas.

Outlook for tomorrow: Cloudy periods with some showers over Lau group, Lomaiviti group, the eastern and interior parts of larger islands. Elsewhere, cloudy periods with isolated afternoon or evening showers. Moderate to fresh southeast winds, gusty at times. Moderate to rough seas.
