JACKIE CHARLTON TELLS: MY FAVOURITE FIJIAN PLACES
Jackie Charlton, managing director for Captain Cook Cruises says Fiji has been a passionate holiday spot for her since 1975.
Ms Charlton helped her parents to start the Captain Cook Cruises business in 1970 at Sydney, Australia.
“My husband and our three children love Fiji,”she said.
“We have just released a special for locals on the Lau and Kadavu discovery cruise at 50 percent discount.”
“This is a once in a lifetime experience that I hope to be aboard,”Mrs Charlton.
Captain Cook Cruises has been operating in Fiji for the past 30 years.
What’s one place you’d take every visitor to in Fiji, and why?
My passion is snorkelling and some of the best places in Fiji is in the Mamanuca and Yasawa group of islands. Another place is Fulaga island in Lau and it is amazing too.
What’s your spot? secret backyard
favourite
Tivua island rau.
The surrounding water is really proand it is close to Denatected.
My favourite thing to do on Tivua island is to find the most protected, sheltered from the breeze water and just to float.
What’s your favourite place in pie/coffee?
Lulu’s Bar Restaurant and Cafe at the Port Denarau Marina is great.
It is a social hub, I can always find someone I know to chat to and the coffee and cakes are great.
One of our Captain Cook Cruises general manager bought the first coffee they had ever made and the memorial cup he framed was on display behind the machine.
What’s one bucket list?
Fiji for a
Fiji spot on the top of your
I did the first cruise to the Lau group of islands over five years ago.
I would love to go back and see how the product has developed.
It always receives rave reviews and the dive team will have now found the best snorkelling spots.
I am currently in Australia and hope to be able to fly over for the departure cruise to Lau on March 16.
