Pace, power and strength could be key factors for the Flying Fijians ahead of the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

This was after they dismantled Georgia and outmuscled their opponents with pace and power.

The physique of our players is already a threat to their opponents but kudos to Flying Fijians head coach Vern Cotter and his coaching staff for identifying these areas and using it to lift the team’s performance.

Our build up to the pinnacle of rugby begun against Georgia last year where we showed great courage and urgency after been quarantined for a period of time during the Autumn Nations Cup.

That itself is a blessing in disguise for the team, it made the team and the players bond well.

According to Flying Fijians halfback Simione Kuruvoli that period of time build the team’s morale and bond stronger that led to a very good performance.

Imagine having all these players in one location the wonders and mesmerizing performance they can produce will be unbelievable.

With international two test matches against Ireland and New Zealand scheduled for this year, Cotter and his staff surely have mapped out strategies that will bring chaos to these two rugby giants.

Against Georgia we had a brilliant scrum platform at 908 kilos our forward pack showed a glimpse of what we can produce at the 2023 RWC.

Attacking at the 22 metre line with a very powerful forward pack will be vital when we have good ball carriers who adds power and pace like Josua Tuisova and Nemani Nadolo who both weigh 100 kilos plus and can attack any defensive line. Cotter has used these two giant wingers against Georgia and one thing for sure he will surely make use of during our test matches. With their big carries and powerful runs all we need is quick balls to reset our attack fast ball will definitely keep our oppositions off set. According to Contact Coach Rugby analysis with power play and big carries the Flying Fijians is a threat to any team.

Ruck speed and power play will keep opposition distracted and all over the place and Fiji showed that against Georgia.

Hats off to first five eighth Ben Volavola who plays a very important role in managing the game and he will be a key factor in Cotter’s build up and test matches.

Cotter has introduced power, pace and strength that has changed the shape and system of how the Flying Fijians play, something that coaches lacked previously.

These factors have proved to be important creating clean balls in rucks that helps in our lethal attack.

Fiji is a very ambitious team on game day when Cotters young brigade sniff opportunities and add these important factors there is no doubt they will create upsets at the 2023 RWC.

With a lot of young players making their names in top clubs and in the Flying Fijian system our build up looks bright as Cotter and his staff map ways to upset Tier 1 giants Australia and Wales at the RWC.
