The match ended in extra time when striker Sakaraia Naisua scored the winning goal to win the 2020 RC Manubhai Nadi FA local league in the Super Premiere division in Prince Charles Park in Nadi. Speaking to Sun sports coach Nadeem Mohammed the team have achieved one of their goals.

“One of our aims this season is to qualify for the NCC to finally make it something special,” he said.

“This victory is quite special for team Nalovo given the fact that they had won it after ten years. The focus was to win all five in Nadi at least to remain unbeaten,” he said.

“The job is not finished yet and we are focused on the NCC which is coming in a few days later. But once again I must give credit to the wonderful bunch of boys in the experience that they have. There are a lot of young ones who also are coming up.”

RC Manubhai managing director and Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel congratulated Nalovo FC for coming out winners over Blues FC.

“It was a great match in the final. Better luck Blues in the next season,” he said.

Patel also urged district players to play with pride at club level too. “District players need to play with pride at club level because their career started there. Clubs will reap their investment this way looking after players.

He added that RC Manubhai despite the hardship of the pandemic did supported Nadi FA.

“This was the first time we supported Nadi FA. We will continue to assist them in the new season.” Patel also confirmed that the NCC playoffs will be held at Lawaqa park, Sigatoka this weekend. The semi-final and final will be held the following weekend.

What Happened

Both teams were tied nil-all at the full time at the wet turf.

Blues goalie Samuela Tamanisau made a brilliant penalty goal to keep Nalovo FC at bay.

The message at the end of full time did fire up Nalovo FC in the extra spell to shun out former two-times Nadi FA Local champion (2017-2018 season).
