The Fiji Football Association will need to give the green light on the appointment of district coaches.

And this includes new Nadi football coach Ravinesh Kumar who is also Nalovo FC technical director.

The clarification was made at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka yesterday by Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf during the opening rounds of the Vodafone Regional Club Championships.

“Nadi FA has yet to write to Fiji FA on their coach’s appointment,” he said.

“Fiji FA can confirm that there was an issue with Nadeem Mohammed (Nalovo FC coach) who has cleared his fine. That is why he’s on the bench.

“All the districts have to refer their appointment of the coach to the Fiji FA. We will then pass it to the technical department to access if the candidate meets the criteria.

Then he or she will be given the green light. They need to let us know.”

Yusuf also confirmed that only two districts have their head coach appointments approved.

“Ba Football has appointed Kamal Swamy and Suva FA (Babs Khan) and both have been given the green light.

“Nadi FA and Rewa FA are expected to hand in theirs after their meeting next week.”
