To close off the New Year

celebrations last week, neighbours in a suburb challenged each other to a water fight. A very eager individual who has unresolved issues with his neighbours joked that he was waiting for the hot water to boil before making his way to the water fight.

POTHOLES AND PREGNANCIES

A seven-month pregnant woman took to social media to express her

disappointment at the state of the roads in her neighbourhood.

Every day that she travels on that road she fears that she will give birth prematurely. She reckons it’s better to dig out the whole road and turn it into gravel rather than driving on potholes.

SO MANY BOOKS

Some parents who are doing backto-school shopping were surprised at the large number of books they had to buy for their children for primary school.

A father of two says he bought 11 books for his six-year-old daughter and 17 books for his nine-year-old son. Back in the day he said he never needed so many books even in high school.

CONCERT COMPLAINTS

Some local artists who performed at a recent Tropical Cyclone Yasa Appeal concert in Suva received some criticism from viewers who were following the live stream on Facebook. There were comments about the quality of the sound and the song choices.

People will always have comments about everything, but at the end of the day the concert was for a worthy cause which raked in more than $16,000 in donations.
